The Tillerman
2245 E. Flamingo Road
(702) 731-4036
One of the most popular restaurants in Las Vegas, The Tillerman has a gorgeous dining
room. The cathedral ceiling has retractable skylights, while below, diners sit among
fichus groves and pillars that look like tree-trunks. You can also sit on the mezzanine level
overlooking the main dining room. From up there you might be able to spot some of the Las
Vegas luminaries that are regulars at the Tillerman.
Dinner begins with fresh baked breads and a relish tray. Each table also has its own salad
bar on a Lazy Susan offering a variety of homemade dressings. There is a huge variety of
seafood and meat entrees including at least ten fresh seafood specials daily. Some of the
more interesting dishes include a herb encrusted tuna steak that is wonderful. There are
also standards like steaks and lamb chops that are very well-prepared. The deserts are
good, but the one we found to be outstanding was the Bavarian cream with strawberries and
bananas.
The Tillerman doesn't take reservations, so arrive early or camp out in the oak-paneled
lounge with working fireplace.
