Las Vegas Dining Guide

The Garlic Cafe
3650 Decatur Blvd.
(702) 221-0266
The eclectic menu offers dishes from around the world with only one unifying theme; garlic. This is the home of garlic based dishes. You have to order dishes according to a scale of garlic. The scale usually runs from one to about five, but each unit represents one head of garlic that will go into the dish. The waiters will help you judge the right amount of garlic to order, but they'll put in any amount you wish. Legend has it one garlic nut asked for a scale of over 50. You can probably still smell him.
Everyone gets a complimentary order of roasted, pureed garlic and bagel chips to start. You can order other garlic appetizers, but don't fill up, the portions are huge. Entrees are creatively named. One of our favorites was the Salmon in Garfunkel Crust, a big salmon fillet rolled in a crackers seasoned with garlic (surprise!) and basil with bearnaise sauce.
