Hippo & the Wild Bunch
4503 Paradise Road
(702) 731-5446
This is a fantastic restaurant for kids and parents who don't mind controlled chaos. The
zany interior design should be your fist clue that this is not a normal restaurant. There
are vines hanging above, walls covered in bright colors and statues of cartoon-like
creatures (including the eponymous hippo in a tree house) A balloon artist is
occasionally on hand to create balloon animals and hats for patrons, and there are
generally balloons tied everywhere. All this is in addition to a hectic exhibition
kitchen, loud rock n roll music, TVs carrying sports and a waitstaff on roller-skates.
Yep, roller-skates. If you were a kid, how could you not like this place?
Hippo & the Wild Bunch is owned by Georges La Forge, the owner of Pamplemousse so
there is a slight French influence. The eclectic menu has everything from a delicious
salad Nicoise to specialty pizzas. You'll find something you like, and so will the kids.
If you get desperate, have a burger- they're fantastic.
