The group formed in 1988 and the foursome that make up Blues Traveler are John Popper, the one time heavy set frontman and harmonica player, Chan Kinchla playing lead guitar, Bobby Sheehan who plays bass, and drummer Bendan Hill.

Blues Traveler broke into the music scene with the release of their first album named after themselves, in May of 1990. They came back in 1991 with Travelers and Thieves. From there the Blues Travelers where the staple of college campuses and haven't looked back.
