Carrington became involved in a theater program while he was in junior college and realized then that he had a talent for comedic acting. Carrington then achieved stardom by the exposure he gained from his appearances on radio shows including "Bob and Tom."
This fall, Rodney Carrington will star in the new ABC television sitcom, "Rodney." The sitcom focuses on a family man from Tulsa, Oklahoma (Carrington) as he quits the blue-collar job he has held for 10 years to pursue his dream of being a stand-up comedian. The forthcoming television show, which is loosely based on Carrington's real career, will feature material from his stand-up routine.
Aside from television, Carrington has risen to the top of the Comedy Charts with four albums that have collectively sold over a million copies. Fans enjoy his humorous and witty songs including "Don't Look Now," "Little Things," and "Fred." His new CD entitled "Greatest Hits," features a total of 42 cuts.
