Tropicana Resort
and Casino
Located at 3801 Las Vegas
Boulevard South, the Tropicana Resort & Casino is one of the
original casinos to occupy a spot on the strip. The hotel consists two
towers - the Island Tower and the Paradise Tower - that together
consist of 1,875 guest rooms. Some Island Tower rooms are furnished
with mirrored walls and ceilings (ooh-la-la). The Paradise Tower
is more traditional, and all rooms have a safe and a couch.
The Tropicana doesn't have the
wide-open gaming floor as in Caesar's and the MGM Grand, but rather
opted for a smaller, cozier setting. The atmosphere is very
comfortable and laid back – a nice setting to camp out in front of a
slot machine. There are a wide variety of slots available, as well as
video poker and table games. Additionally, guests can play Lucky
$20, where a $20 buy-in gets you $50 in slot play (on
designated machines) for your chance to win $50, $100 or $500 or other
prizes. Also available are the Free
Pull slot machines, located at the casino’s main entrance and
the pedestrian walkway entrance, offering visitors a chance to win
$5,000 in cash. Leroy’s Sports Book presents wagering on all major sporting
events as well as daily parlay cards. Open daily 8am to 9pm
Sun.-Thurs., and until Midnight Fri. and Sat.
Between the hotel’s twin
towers is a five-acre water park featuring three sparkling pools, one
indoor pool heated year-round, five spas, cascading waterfalls, and
two lagoons surrounded by tropical foliage. For those who cannot
decide on whether to take a dip in the pool or to keep on gambling,
the Tropicana provides guests with swim-up blackjack tables, complete
with a special waterproof layout and money dryers. Imagine that you
just won a few bucks while in the pool, and at the same time just met
the girl/guy of your dreams floating around in a tight swimsuit
drinking strawberry daiquiris; it is precisely for situations such as
these, that the full-service Island
Wedding Chapel is located on the property -- to bring people
together!
The Tropicana’s newest
addition is the Casino Legends
Hall of Fame, featuring the largest collection of Nevada casino
and entertainment memorabilia ever assembled. The Tropicana Resort
& Casino also boasts about its
Island Water Park,
which features a total of five acres of tropically landscaped grounds,
pools, lagoons, waterfalls and exotic fish and birds.
The resort also features
plenty of entertainment, including the “Folies
Bergere”, a
musical tribute to the Parisian cabaret; the ever-common Las
Vegas magic show, with a large in-flux of diverse performers; and The
Comedy Stop At The Trop, a classic comedy club that showcases
talent from all over the nation.
Aside
from the aforementioned amenities, the Tropicana has several
cocktail lounges, a cigar club, singing bartenders, and eight
restaurants ranging from gourmet to buffet, among other
attractions
