Ra, the ancient Egyptian sun god, walked
the heavens by day and raged in the underworld at night. Obviously, he could throw a mean
party. In modem day Las Vegas, his legacy continues at the hottest spot on the Strip - Ra,
the nightclub at Luxor.
Mystically resplendent in
futuristic-Egyptian decor reminiscent of the hit movie, "Stargate," Ra features
ultramodern lasers and lighting and a pulsating sound system, plush VIP amenities and
non-stop cutting-edge dance music.
The 19,000 square-foot club offers a
spacious central dance floor and stage, two massive bars and plenty of comfortable booths
and tables. Named "Best Place To Dance" by readers of the Las Vegas
Review-Journal, Nevada's largest daily newspaper, Ra features amenities such as luxury VIP
booths, two cigar lounges, and a sushi bar. Valet service for Ra is offered at the south
entrance to Luxor.
Every Wednesday night, Ra hosts
"Pleasuredome," the hippest, sexiest house party on the Las Vegas Strip --
featuring the best club music from LA and New York and Ra's provocative cage dancing
contest. For the most totally awesome dance party in town, step through the glass doors at
Ra every Thursday for "Deca Dance" 80s nights.
Since opening in 1998, Ra has hosted live
performances by such chart-topping acts as Candlebox, Run-DMC, Berlin, Sugar Hill Gang,
Missing Persons, Loverboy, Digital Underground, George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars,
Lisa Lisa, Jefferson Starship, Technotronic, and C&C Music Factory.
Ra is open Wednesday through Saturday from
10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The club has an upscale dress code. Admission is $10 for men, $5 for
women with out-of-town identification, and free for women with local identification. For
those who are looking for someplace different for a special event, Ra is also available
for group rentals and private parties.
