The Desert Inn
Since it's opening in 1950, the
Desert Inn has defined luxury in Las Vegas. It caters to an upscale crowd and considers
itself a resort rather than just a hotel or casino. The fine dining, spa, excellent service, PGA tournament golf course and other
amenities make it hard to argue with them. The Desert Inn has long been known as the most
glamorous casino is Las Vegas, but the Bellagio might challenge this title. In
anticipation of the new super-casino, the Desert Inn renovated their facilities to make it
even more elegant. It's interesting to note that this renovation actually reduced the
number of rooms in the resort. The Desert Inn would rather sacrifice the quantity of
guests to increase the quality of the player.
It should come as no surprise that the
casino's decor is as elegant as the rest of the resort. The 32,000 square foot casino is
not large, but this further adds the air of exclusivity that permeates the resort. Since
the Desert Inn caters to high rollers, low limit tables are hard to find, but as a result
there are fewer tables and they are well spaced out. There are also not as many slot
machines as other casinos. It makes more room for table games and keeps the noise level
down.
The rooms are absolutely fabulous.
There are numerous levels of luxury and cost, but all are spacious and clean. The Desert
Inn has the best bathrooms in Las Vegas. They're smartly designed in gray and black
with double sinks and a separate room for the toilet.
One of the most famous features of the
Desert Inn is it's 18-hole golf course. See golf. It hosts several PGA tournaments and has
every amenity available.
