The Stardust Resort and Casino has occupied a spot on the Strip since 1958. In the early casino days, the Stardust once had the largest sign in the world. Today, the Stardust sign is one of the famous scenes of Las Vegas. The 85,000-square-foot gaming floor of the casino is always crowded and tends to be on the noisy side, mainly due to the huge slots area, with more than 2,000 machines. Despite all of the resort's upgrading, the Stardust casino tends to look shabby in places. Nevertheless, the Sports Book here is one of the best in Las Vegas. Serious sportsmen come here to place their wagers due to the statistical information posted in the casino handicapper's library. The large seating area has over 250 seats and 50 monitors carrying races on a sophisticated satellite system.
Although the Stardust Resort and Casino is not the most elaborate place to stay while you are in Vegas, it meets the basic needs. The Stardust has more than 1,500 rooms.
Stardust dining offers a plethora of choices such as Tony Roma's Restaurant, if you want some tasty ribs; the Coco Palms, for diners who enjoy unusual and appetizing buffets; or William B's, whose menu includes a wide choice of steaks, chops, seafood, Italians specialties, and pasta dishes.
Visitors to the Stardust also can browse the shops or go swimming in one of the two pools and enjoy a 24-hour fitness center.
