Full Editorial Review

The $950,000 million Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is a deluxe, tropical-themed resort with mystical architecture and lush surroundings, encompassing 60 acres on the South Strip. The 43-story resort contains 3,300 rooms and has a 110,000-square-foot casino floor. All guest rooms feature climate control, cable TV, a two-line phone w/ data port, an alarm clock, hairdryer, separate tub/shower, ironing board, and bathrobes. The hotel is wheelchair accessible and offers room service, a casino, lounges and bars, an 11-acre tropical water park with pools and beach, a state-of-the-art health spa, top name entertainment, and 13 restaurants including the famous House of Blues.

Visitors will recognize the resort's mystical décor when they first come upon the Mandalay's façade - known as the Valley of the Waterfalls - featuring firepots with cascading waters and illuminating flames that shoot more than 20 feet in the air. Then there is the unique Surf and Beach area, a tropical water environment that has three swimming pools, nine private bungalows, 20 cabanas, a half-mile jogging track, a lazy river ride, a variety of beachside lounges, restaurants, and shops. Comprised of 1,700 tons of sand and 1.6 million gallons of water, the Surf and Sand Beach also features a wave pool measuring 41,178 square feet with adjustable waves.

The luxurious Shark Reef aquarium at the resort provides an intimate view of Indo-Pacific and South Pacific coral reefs. An abundance of tropical fish, including Pacific Black Tip Sharks, Soldier Fish, Angelfish, Puffers, and Butterfly fish also inhabit the aquariums making for a serene and dynamic atmosphere. The registration lobby aquarium measures 14 square feet tall and contains 12,200 gallons of seawater, while the Coral Reef Lounge aquarium measures eight feet tall and holds 2,600 gallons of sea water. Both aquariums are visually stunning and add to the overall tropical theme.

Additionally, atop the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, a residential style, boutique hotel with 424 guest rooms, including 86 suites. The Four Seasons is a world-class, non-gaming hotel and is the only hotel of its kind on the Strip. Four Seasons Hotel room guests, using private elevators, occupy the 36th through the 39th floors of the Mandalay Bay. The two hotels are built on adjoining real estate but maintain separate identities.

Other amenities include two wedding chapels, situated on a private island; four lounges seating a total of 570 patrons and together containing everything from a sushi bar to a Race and Sports Book; an exclusive spa that contains 21 state-of-the-art treatment rooms; a three-quarter-mile lazy river ride; a showroom; a 12,000-seat arena; and one million square feet of convention space.
