Full Editorial Review

The Excalibur is a huge castle connected via a walkway to New York-New York and the Luxor casinos. The immense structure seems as big as Camelot itself, and can be just as magical if you're in the mood. A huge hit with families and those who wish to be King Arthur or Queen Guinevere for a day, the Excalibur really tries to transport you back to medieval times (if medieval times had slot machines). There are battlements, towers, and even used to have a fire-breathing dragon that rose out of the moat several times a night (sadly the dragon no longer inhabits Excalibur).
Since the Excalibur is one of the largest resort hotels in the world, it can be a bit confusing trying to find your way around. However, a plus is that this spaciousness is carried out in the guest rooms. The castle motif also is continued in the rooms, with wallpaper that looks like a castle's interior, and pictures depicting jousting knights or other such medieval traditions.
The main casino floor is large, but lacks in any details separating it from other gaming halls. Occasionally there is a procession of musicians and jesters that perform at the Court Jester's Stage and Front Entrance Stage. All the performers are costumed in medieval clothing and provide a pleasant and short distraction from gambling. Guests who get married in the Excalibur's wedding chapel can opt to get dressed in medieval garb, and have their own procession through the casino.
Above the main casino floor is an area that looks like a medieval village. Most of the Excalibur's restaurants and stores are located on this level. It can be fun place to linger because there are jugglers, magicians, and other performers who conduct free shows on the Village Jester's Stage throughout the day. The automated walkway to the Luxor is located on this level.
If it seems you've gained the title of Sir Lose-a-Lot in the gaming hall, it may be wise to take a break in the Fantasy Faire located on the lower level. It has state-of-the-art video games and simulator rides, including Merlin's Magic Motion Theatre. One can also see Tournament of Kings, a medieval themed dinner show involving horses jousting and pyrotechnics.
Also of note is the addition of a 13,000 square foot Spa & Fitness center called Royal Treatment, which offers full pampering services.
