Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the Casino Royale & Hotel is situated between Harrah's and The Venetian casinos, directly across the street from The Mirage. This is the place to hole up in if you are looking to stay close to the center of all the action but don't mind settling for a resort that is a little less grandiose than the mega-resorts that now line the Strip. The Casino Royale is conventional Las Vegas and, more importantly, rather affordable when compared to the larger resorts. The small hotel offers just 152 guest rooms. Amenities include smoking and non-smoking rooms, King or Double-Double beds, complimentary in-room safe and coffee maker, and a refreshment center. The casino floor, with its low ceiling and tremendously campy décor, offers more than 500 slot machines, as well as an assortment of table games, from Blackjack and Roulette, to Pai Gow and video poker. Slot and video poker denominations range from one cent to $5. Though the resort lacks the more luxurious amenities, such as an expansive swimming pool, spa, health club, or world-class entertainment, it does have its perks. For one, gambling is taken as serious here as any casino in Vegas. What's more, the dining choices are excellent for late night gamblers. In addition to Outback Stgeakhouse, Casino Royale is home to a 24-hour Denny's. There is nothing like a cup of coffee and some breakfast during the wee hours of the morning as you are coming down from your liquor/gambling induced buzz - a perfect nightcap. There's also a Subway for the health conscious.
