Welcome to the California Hotel, except here it might be more appropriate to greet others with "aloha" instead of "hello" (or good-bye for that matter). A large amount of the guests that stay at the California are from Hawaii. The dealers wear Hawaiian shirts and a few of the restaurants inside the casino serve Hawaiian specialties along with other entrees. The casino is very enticing, complete with sofas and armchairs available right on the gaming floor. There are also probably more balloons here than in any other casino in town, excluding Circus Circus. The accommodations in the California are thankfully not designed in the same style as the casino. The guest rooms are rather tasteful, with mahogany furnishings and marble bathrooms. All rooms have private safes and pay-per-view movies. In addition to the 781 guest rooms, the California offers a variety of shopping options, and a swimming pool, but no health club or spa. Folks come here to gamble, eat, and sleep at affordable prices. Convention space and an RV Park also are available. The casino offers 60,000 square feet of gaming space, with table games including Blackjack, Craps, Keno, Let It Ride, Pai Gow poker, poker, Roulette, Sports Book, slots, and Megabucks. The resort offers a shuttle to other downtown casinos.
